Former employees highlight challenges, including integrating legacy systems with generative models, resolving a fragmented codebase, and addressing gaps in documentation. Alexa’s redesign relies on Amazon’s Nova models and third-party AI systems like Anthropic’s Claude, with an $8 billion investment from Amazon in Anthropic underscoring the scale of the effort.
