Return Statements in Java

In a return statement in Java, we evaluate expressions, and as part of this evaluation, other methods may run in the process and types must match otherwise an error occurs.

It is necessary to note that code after a return statement may become unreachable.

Example

public class Program {
static int multiply(int a, int b){
return a*b;
}
public static void main (String args[]){
int result = multiply(5,3);
System.out.println(result); //15
}
}
